This novel is particularly unique in its story development since it presents various points of view and plot-lines, namely the noble houses of Westeros, the Wall, and the Targaryen plot-line. All in all, this book—or the whole series in that matter—conveys a genuine masterpiece of modern epic fantasy. Martin brilliantly brings together and mixes the best elements of this genre: magic, mystery, intrigue, romance, and of course adventure.
