The exciting adventure of the thirteen-year old demigod Percy Jackson continues with the novel The Sea of Monsters, the second book in Percy Jackson & the Olympians young-adult fantasy series. First published in 2006, the book focuses on the attempt of Percy Jackson and friends in saving Grover, their satyr friend. Upon its publication, this novel written by Rick Riordan gained generally good reviews, especially for its themes, story-line, style of writing, and how it wonderfully mixed mythology and fiction. It was nominated for the Mark Twain Award in 2009. A film adaptation based on the novel was produced and released in August 2013.
Story:
You can't tell by looking at me that my dad is Poseidon, God of the Sea. It's not easy being a half-blood these days. You mortals can't even see the monsters we have to fight all the time.
