Paranormalcy is a fantasy novel series for young-adult written by Kiersten White. There are three books already published in this series: Paranormalcy (2010), Supernaturally (2011), and Endlessly (2012). The process of writing started while the author entering her motherhood phase, when Kiersten had a strong interest in paranormal things and a question popped out inside her head, “what you’d do with a vampire if you didn't want to kill it?” Pondering on the question then led to the invention of the most important element of the story (International Paranormal Containment Agency) and the characters in the novels.
The main character is a sixteen-year-old girl named Evie and the story all over the series is built around her. As a teenager, Evie lives a pretty not regular life as a member of the international police’s special paranormal force and she is trying to perform her professional duties well. On the other hand, as a teenager, she is longing for a normal life too, like having friends and hanging out with them.
Like most girls at her age, boys are also important parts of her life. During her adventures, Evie meets Lend, a shape-shifting boy, and Reth, a faerie. Both of them will play important roles in Evie’s romantic life while she struggles to find the balance between her paranormal missions and teenage life.
